What is a DER?
FAA Designated Engineering Representatives (DER) services provided by Peterseim Aerospace Consulting cover a broad range of disciplines. But whatever the requirement, our DERs will ensure your engineering data (for new parts/assemblies or repairs) meets the FAA's stringent requirements. If your business needs support from an experienced DER outside of these areas, just let us know. We have someone on our team who can help move your aircraft design and development program forward.
A DAR is responsible for upholding the FAA's standards and, consequently, is under no obligation to certify the design of any aircraft, article or assembly that does not meet the requirements of the appropriate Code of Federal Regulations (CFRs). Payment of services is required regardless of the outcome of the engineering process. If issues arise outside of our control, we will continue to provide services at the agreed-to rate to ensure satisfactory completion of the engineering process.
